Community Development

We will be providing examples of good practice over the coming months, please make sure you bookmark us and keep coming back for more updates!

Before you commence any community project you must ensure you have adequate insurance cover. It is vital that you protect both yourself, staff, volunteers and the children and young people you are responsible for. So always consult an insurance company or insurance broker before starting any community project.

Below is a list of the insurances you should consider:

  • Public & Products Liability Insurance covers members of the public on your premises and when using your products. For example, in art projects or workshops.
  • Employers Liability is a legal requirement for those who employ people.
  • Building Insurance covers any rebuilding costs.
  • Contents Insurance covers replacing items within the building.
*The definition of an employee is anyone you have on the premises who is assisting your work.
